Economy Imports Section

Economy Imports Section

I do my best to stock parts with as much local (US) content as possible. That tends to provide you with the best quality components and support and also indirectly funds local lobs for you and your kids.

On the other hand, we all have budgets and sometimes drool over those direct from China prices. In order to satisfy that need, I am starting to build up an economy imports section. Robot Model Kits

Robot Model Kits

I've got lots of motorized, plastic robot models for kids. Putting these together develops building skills and the final result is a fun toy. I think everybody should build at least one or two of theses during their life. Starting young develops skills that are useful for a lifetime.

While most of these are battery operated, I do have kits that are powered by solar cells, wind vanes and fuel cells. All of these make great summer projects and may help your child get a headstart on next Fall's Science Fair project.

All of these are available online. Let me know if you have trouble finding them or want a recommendation. If you prefer to pick up in the store, let me know your preferred days and times for store hours.

Ask And You May Receive

Ask And You May Receive

An email this morning asked if I had Raspberry Pi and/or RS485 interface. The website says no but the reality is YES. That's dumb, but it's a reality (that I am working to fix as soon as possible). Please send email if you have trouble finding things on the website. This is all new and needs lots of work to be optimally helpful and responsive. I need your support to be able to get the help I need to keep improving.

I have updated https://www.bayarearobotics.com/pages/about-us with more details about my Will Call / pick-up process and store payment options.

I have added Gift Cards to my product selection: Gift Card. Gifting these is a great way to introduce friends and family to science and technology and supports the store. Consider buying these for your own future projects as a sort of Crowdfunding to help my business grow.

Hi! Thanks for visiting Bay Area Robotics and Hobbies. I'm Al Margolis and I am trying to create the Bay Area's best store for people who make things like robots, gadgets and scientific research. I have about 7000 different items in the warehouse. About 1000 are on this site today and the rest will be uploaded in the next few weeks. I will begin offering "retail" hours during April. Please sign up for my email list and place your orders to help make this a success.
